My cousin has a blog that often intrigues me. His most recent post "Science, Quackery, and Faith" is really interesting and I couldn't resist leaving a comment on it. The link to his blog is "The Mad Hatter" to the right of this page. I would highly recommend anyone reading my blog right now to read his also. I think there is potential for a really good discussion there. If you visit his blog and read that post, but don't want to comment on his blog, then leave a comment on my blog under this post. I would really like to hear some feedback on this subject. Just a caution, be reasonably polite in your comments and don't let this result in a heated pointless argument. I would rather prefer an intelligent educational discussion among those who know how to exercise self-control. Comment as long and as often as you want, but be aware that if you do comment (I really want you to) you may very likely be subject to critiquing by others reading this blog. If you critique someone's comment, be constructive in your criticism. So, here we go....
Go read my cousin's blog post "Science, Quackery, and Faith" now, then come back and finish reading this post.
After reading "Science, Quackery, and Faith" my question to anyone is this: What makes the Christian worldview a rational one as opposed to secularism, postmodernism, Islam, Hinduism, etc.? What is, or should be, the rational basis for that step of faith? If you are a Christian, why do you say your worldview is the only correct one?
Don't hang me; I'm not asking out of skepticism, but out of curiosity. I'm a student. You will not only teach me something by commenting, but if you take the question seriously you will also observe your own beliefs more closely and will be able to display it in writing to anyone else reading this blog. Consider it a witnessing opportunity. I've previously heard some discussions and some people's reasoning on this subject, but what is yours?
